marx marvelous's TFMX player

TFMX: the final musicsystem extended

for Win32 & WinAMP by Per Lindén

History:

In late 1992 marx marvelous combined Martin Griffiths' Soundtracker player with Chris Huelsbeck's TFMX player code and created the first TFMX player for the Atari ST. It played both 4- and 7-voice modules. Some time later he created a TFMX player for Unix. In September, 1998, I, Per Lindén, made a Windows NT/95 version of the Unix player, that plays through the Windows Wave Mapper sound device. Now there is also a WinAMP plugin available.

Features: (of both the Windows and Unix versions)

Future plans of  the player: (the more likely first...)

Available versions:

- For Windows 95/NT: (latest release: March 10, 1999)

Win32 Version 0.19 is the fifth public release of the 32-bit Windows command line version of TFMXPlay. The differences from 0.172 is that it displays the number of voices that the module uses, and some improvements have been made to handle strange/corrupt modules better. Since v0.18 some minor problems with error handling were corrected, and it is now possible to play modules with the magic number "TFMX ", such as Rock'n'Roll. I am not sure about how good they sound, though. Try it out.

- Plugin for WinAMP, Windows 95/NT: (latest release: December 19, 1999)

TFMXPlug Version 0.0.0.8 is the eighth WinAMP player plugin version of this player. New features since 0.0.0.7 are: Major bugfix: resolved the problem that caused WinAMP to lock up at times. Some player code fixes. If you want to report bugs, suggestions or strange behaviour, please check out the readme file first.

- For Unix:

Go to the original TFMX player for Unix page.

- For Germans: :-)

Markus Jungblut (UBMax) has been kind enough to prepare a German translation of all the text files included with TFMXPlay 0.19 and TFMXPlug 0.0.0.8. Read these, and become a certified TFMXPlay/Plugprofessional! ;-)

The TFMXPLay mailing list

If you are interested in being informed about coming updates (if there will be any :-), send a mail to per@snakebite.com , with the subject "TFMX list subscription". I will handle this list manually to begin with, so it's not a robot you're writing to! If you want to stop subscribing, just throw me a mail. This list will certainly not flood anyone's inbox, I promise... ;-)
